
NAACP ACT-SO Competiion

The NAACP ACT-SO competition is a great experience in which high schoolers can choose from 25 categories in the visual arts, performing arts, business, and the sciences from which to compete in. Regional gold medalists compete nationally. If representing your race is not a enough of an incentive, national gold medals are accompanied by a $2000 cash prize.

Open to high school visual artists and writers. Gold Key winners get to travel to New York City for an awards ceremony at Carnegie Hall. Seniors can compete for the $10,000 Gold Portfolio award.
NFAA youngARTS (Arts Recognition and Talent Search) Awards

Open to 18 and 19 year olds working in the visual, literary, and performing arts. Disciplines include Visual Arts, Photography, Dance, Classical Music, Jazz, Classical Voice, Theater, and several more. 5- 25 finalists are chosen for each discipline. Finalists spend a week in Miami taking master classes and fellowshipping in all things art. Final prizes range from $250 to $10,000. Also 50 out of the total number of finalists are nominated to be Presidential Scholars in the Arts.

High school juniors can apply to spend 2 weeks landscape painting with professional artists in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO. Winners stay on the campus of Colorado College and take classes in both painting and drawing. All supplies are provided. A truly awesome experience!
